Regardless of whether you are a first time soccer player or already have some experience, here you can find a list of what you need to bring to your training session with Royal York FC.

The first thing to know is that no matter where your training is or how old are you, you always need SHIN GUARDS! Shin Guards are mandatory shin protection, no player can go on the field if they don’t have shin guards.

Indoor Training — Gym:

  • Indoor soccer shoes or Running shoes, no Cleats or turf shoes. Cleats are only for outdoors as they are slippery on the hardwood floors, hard on your feet and damaging to the floors.

  • SHIN GUARDS – mandatory shin protection for ALL soccer players

  • soccer socks

  • shorts or track suit bottom

  • Your Royal York FC Jersey

  • New players will receive training jersey on the first day of the session (if you miss the first session email the Club to arrange pick up)

  • hair band if needed

  • water bottle

  • Your A-game and good mood

Indoor or Outdoor Training — Artificial Turf:

  • Soccer turf shoes or Running shoes. Most turf facilities don’t allow cleats so we would not advise it

  • SHIN GUARDS – mandatory shin protection for ALL soccer players

  • soccer socks

  • shorts or track suit bottom

  • Your Royal York FC Jersey

  • New players will receive training jersey on the first day of the session (if you miss the first session email the Club to arrange the pick up)

  • hair band if needed

  • water bottle

Outdoor Training — Grass Field:

  • Cleats or Running shoes.

  • SHIN GUARDS – mandatory shin protection for ALL soccer players

  • soccer socks

  • shorts or track suit bottom
